We are looking for an organised, proactive, and hands-on Transport Planner & Supervisor to join our team. This is a key operational role supporting the day-to-day running of our transport function, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently and the team is supervised effectively to maintain a high-performing, safe, and compliant operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport Planning
- Create, plan, and optimise daily delivery routes to maximise efficiency and service levels.
- Monitor live fleet performance and adjust plans in real-time when required.
- Coordinate driver assignments, vehicle allocation, and route changes.
- Communicate clearly with drivers, warehouse teams, management, and customers.
- Supervision & Leadership
- Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to the driving team.
- Carry out briefings, debriefs, performance reviews, and coaching where required.
- Assist with absence management, compliance checks, and adherence to company policies.
- Maintain a positive, solution-focused environment, ensuring standards remain high.
- Compliance & Administration
- Ensure all routes operate within legal and company regulations (WTD, driver hours, tachograph).
- Support accident, incident, and vehicle damage investigations where needed.
- Complete daily operational reporting and maintain accurate records.
- Liaise with external partners, agencies, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues quickly.
About You
We are looking for someone who can balance planning accuracy with strong people-management skills. You will have:
- Experience in transport planning, transport operations, or traffic office supervision.
- Strong understanding of WTD, driver hours, and operational compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to supervise and support drivers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good IT skills, including route-planning systems and MS Office.
Desirable
- Experience working in a multidrop, logistics, wholesale, or transport environment.
- Knowledge of planning software / telematics systems.
