Lead From the Front in a Fast-Paced Distribution Environment. We're looking for an experienced Leading Hand to join our warehouse operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with warehouse leadership experience who thrives in a busy distribution environment and enjoys motivating teams to deliver outstanding results. As a key member of the operations team, you'll support the day-to-day running of the picking operation, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, safely, and on time whilst maintaining productivity and service standards.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Leading and motivating a team of warehouse operatives.
- Allocating resources and coordinating workloads effectively.
- Driving productivity, accuracy, and service level performance.
- Supporting daily warehouse operations and shift objectives.
- Coaching and developing team members.
- Conducting shift briefings and handovers.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Maintaining warehouse housekeeping standards.
- Supporting stock investigations and cycle counts.
- Providing supervisor cover when required.
What We're Looking For:
- Essential:
- Experience within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Previous team leader, leading hand, or supervisory experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop others.
- Understanding of warehouse Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience coordinating workloads and managing priorities.
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support operational requirements across the warehouse.
- Desirable:
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Distribution or logistics sector experience.
