The Role
We are seeking an experienced Bus & Coach (PSV) Technician to join our workshop team in Southwater, West Sussex. This is a workshop-based role focused on the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preparation of PSV vehicles, including minibuses, midi buses, coaches, and electric vehicles. You will work across multiple manufacturers and powertrains, supporting vehicle reliability, safety, and compliance throughout the lifecycle—from pre-delivery inspection to in-service maintenance.
As Bus & Coach PSV Technician your job role will include but not be limited to the following:
- Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues, including axle and driveline repairs.
- Carrying out detailed mechanical and electrical diagnostics on bus and coach vehicles.
- Fault finding on CAN systems, electrical networks, and vehicle control systems.
- Diagnosis and repair of HGV / PSV air systems, including braking and suspension.
- Axle, driveline, steering, and chassis-related repairs.
- Completing pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and vehicle preparation for customer handover.
- Routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and defect rectification.
- PSVAR-related inspection and rectification, including accessibility equipment where applicable.
- Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Accurately recording all work completed using workshop documentation and systems.
- Working collaboratively with Aftersales, Warranty, and Engineering teams.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment in line with H&S requirements.
Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience as a bus/coach/HGV technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Relevant qualifications in Vehicle maintenance or equivalent experience.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Full clean driving licence. D(PSV) Licence preferable.
- High-voltage certification desirable (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
- Ability to read electrical fault finding and electrical wiring diagrams.
Location
Based in Southwater, West Sussex. Occasional travel may be required.
