Export Official Veterinarian - Scotland in Glasgow

Export Official Veterinarian (EOV) – Scotland

We are looking for 2 Export Official Veterinarians who will support a customer in Scotland that exports animal‑origin products requiring Health Certification (EHCs).

Responsibilities

• Complete EHCs by checking requirements and interpreting current legislation.
• Inspect export vehicles, goods, packaging integrity and labelling.
• Document photographic evidence of export activities and upload to the working IT space.
• Supervise loading, seal the container, and capture photographic evidence of the sealed container.
• Submit accurate EHCs within the agreed timescale and email certified copies to all relevant parties.

Expected Competencies

• Establish and maintain productive relationships with exporter customers.
• Communicate confidently as a writer and speaker, building good working relationships and resolving issues promptly.
• Prepare detailed reports and interpret legislative requirements to make informed decisions.
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of the exporting sector.

Entry Level Requirements

• RCVS/EAEVE accredited veterinary degree.
• RCVS registration or ability to obtain it.
• Prior experience as an OV or in export (preferred).
• Advanced written and spoken English (UK) or IELTS Academic UKVI minimum band 7 in all parts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and time‑management abilities.
• B category driving licence – mandatory.

The role follows a shift rota covering Monday to Sunday, between 6 am and 10 pm, with an average 40‑hour working week.
