This is a pivotal role within our organisation, responsible for overseeing the strategic and day-to-day management of our vehicle fleet. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:-
- Fleet Strategy & Oversight - Lead the development and implementation of fleet policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements
- Data Management - Ensure all fleet data is accurate, up to date, and effectively utlilised for reporting and decision making
- Team Leadership - supervise and support the Fleet Administrator fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Vehicle Lifecycle Management - Oversee vehicle acquisitions, disposals, and movements, ensuring timely updates to payroll and HMRC records
- Compliance & Risk Management - Maintain driver licence records and ensure all drivers meet legal requirements, particularly in new arrivals to the UK
- Cost Control - Monitor and manage vehicle-related costs including damages, fines, and hire charges. Lead initiatives to reduce reliance on spot hire vehicles
- Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with insurers, leasing companies, and other third parties to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships
- Dispute Resolution - investigate and resolve employee disputes related to vehicle damages or fines, ensuring fair outcomes and accurate payroll deductions
- Reporting and Analysis - provide regular reports to senior leadership on fleet performance, usage trends, and cost saving opportunities
- Proven experience in fleet management (or similar operational leadership role) and ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Financial awareness and budget management experience
- Full driving licence
