We are looking for 2 Export Official Veterinarians (EOV) who will be involved in supporting one of our customers in Scotland exporting products of animal origin which require health certification (EHCs).

What might I be doing?

  • You’ll be responsible for the completion of EHCs, checking the requirements and the certificates’ notes for guidance and current legislation, and gathering the necessary supporting documents.
  • You’ll inspect the export vehicles, goods, integrity of the packaging and labelling.
  • You’ll take photographic evidence throughout the export, as indicated in the booking form, then upload them to the working IT space.
  • You’ll supervise the loading and complete the sealing of the container, taking photographic evidence of the sealed container.
  • After accurately completing the EHC and sending the appropriate documentation to the agreed timescale, you’ll email certified copies to all relevant parties.

What will be expected of me?

  • As an Export Official Veterinarian, you will need to establish and maintain productive working relationships with the exporter customer.
  • This demands an effective and confident communicator, who can build good working relationships and resolve issues as they arise.
  • You’ll need to be able to write up detailed reports and understand legislative requirements so that you can make effective decisions when required.
  • You’ll need to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the exporting sector.

Entry Level Requirements

  • Education: RCVS/EAEVE accredited veterinary degree, RCVS registration or ability to obtain it.
  • Experience: previous OV/export experience preferred.
  • English: advanced level of written and spoken English (UK)/ IELTS Academic UKVI min level 7 in all parts of examination (overseas).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Driving licence: B category - mandatory.

The role will be working on a shift rota covering Monday to Sunday, between 6am and 10pm. It will be an average 40‑hour working week.
