The Role
We are seeking a high-calibre commercial professional to originate, shape, and develop relationships with senior financial services decision-makers, while helping to scale our internal commercial team. In this role, you will own the commercial journey. You will identify where Evident can create value, engage key stakeholders, and guide prospective clients through to partnerships centred on our public and private benchmarking data. While you will lead these processes, you will be supported closely by the Commercial Director and Co-Founders, who will provide strategic guidance on positioning and pricing to help you progress and finalise deals.
We operate on a collective team target rather than individual quotas. We are looking for a collaborative, structured thinker who wants to support colleagues, establish clear team processes, and foster a supportive, high-performing culture. This is an insight-led role that will suit someone who is commercially ambitious, intellectually curious, and comfortable operating with senior audiences in complex institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Deal Leadership: Map priority accounts, initiate discovery, and lead enterprise opportunities from initial outreach through to final agreement, pulling in senior leadership strategically to support the closing process.
- Partnership Positioning: Learn the core mechanics of our public and private benchmarking data models, and communicate their commercial value with clarity and precision to sophisticated buying groups.
- Team Enablement & Mentoring: Act as a collaborative pillar for the wider commercial team, supporting and coaching colleagues on account strategy, pipeline hygiene, and professional growth.
- Process & Playbook Creation: Translate how we successfully win clients into repeatable playbooks, CRM workflows, and commercial collateral that the whole team can leverage to scale.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Research, Product, and Marketing teams to refine our overall value proposition. You will actively feedback market signals and product feedback to help shape our roadmap.
- Seamless Client Handovers: Work closely with the Account Management team to transition closed partnerships smoothly, ensuring alignment and setting up new clients for long-term success.
- Team Leadership & Culture: Serve as a collaborative pillar for the commercial team; coach colleagues on account strategy, discovery, and professional development.
Core Skills
- 4+ years’ professional experience in Management Consulting, Enterprise Business Development, Account Management, or a strategic commercial role within a startup or information services environment.
- Relationship-Driven Engagement: Proven experience navigating long, complex commercial cycles or advisory engagements with senior stakeholders in global financial institutions.
- Exceptional Attention to Detail: A high bar for quality. You are excellent at crafting compelling, visually crisp presentations and reviewing team deliverables to ensure they meet a very high standard.
- Comfort with Substantive Products: The ability to master an intellectually rigorous data offering, and the commercial judgment to align our data partnerships with a client's strategic priorities.
- Collaborative Mindset: A true team player who prioritises collective success over individualism, with the emotional intelligence to coach others and build a great team culture.
Share options: we offer all employees share options over a 4 year vesting period. Holidays: 28 days of holiday + public bank holidays. Flexible working: 3 days per week in our Central London office, 2 days remote. Pension. Private health insurance.
Our commitments to diversity and inclusion: Evident is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating all forms of discrimination. Our aim is for our workforce to be truly representative of all sections of society and our customers, and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best.
During our recruitment process, you will not be discriminated against for any of the following reasons: race (including colour, nationality, ethnic and national origin), age, disability, gender reassignment, being married or in a civil partnership, being pregnant or on maternity leave, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. If you need us to make certain changes (known as reasonable adjustments) to make sure you are not disadvantaged during the recruitment process, you should contact us as soon as possible.
We strive to create a working environment free of bullying, harassment, victimisation and discrimination, promote dignity and respect for all, and value and recognise individual differences and the contributions of all staff.
