Market Access Business Development Vice PresidentRole summary: Would you like to be part of a unique, privately owned, exciting growth phase with no politics? Our client, an independent, global Life Sciences dedicated commercialization consultancy with over 100 professionals, is seeking a Vice President of Market Access Business Development. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing commercial opportunities that expand patient access and drive revenue through payer, provider, and institutional channels. It leads strategic partnerships, contracting initiatives, and accessâfocused growth strategies, working crossâfunctionally with Market Access, Commercial, Medical, and Finance teams.
This role plays a critical role in shaping market access, pricing, reimbursement, and partnership strategies to ensure sustainable access across global markets, mainly European / EU5.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Growth
Identify and evaluate new marketâaccess driven business opportunities, including partnerships, licensing, collaborations, and service agreements
Lead endâtoâend deal development: opportunity assessment, stakeholder engagement, negotiation, contracting, and execution
Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of market access opportunities aligned with corporate strategy
Drive revenue growth through payer, provider, IDN, government, and channel partnerships
Market Access Strategy
Collaborate with Market Access and Pricing teams to align business development initiatives with reimbursement, HTA, and value strategies
Support market entry and expansion planning across geographies, payer segments, and channels
Analyze payer dynamics, policy trends, and competitive landscapes to inform opportunity selection and deal structure
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and manage seniorâlevel relationships with payers, PBMs, providers, health systems, government bodies, and strategic partners
Serve as a key external representative of the organization in accessâfocused discussions and negotiations
Partner closely with internal Commercial, Legal, Medical Affairs, HEOR, and Finance teams
Leadership & Execution
Lead crossâfunctional deal teams to ensure timely, compliant, and valueâdriven execution
Develop business cases, financial models, and executiveâlevel presentations
Track performance of partnerships and agreements, ensuring delivery against access and revenue objectives
Qualifications & Experience
8â12+ years of experience in market access, business development, commercial strategy, or related roles
Proven track record of closing complex, accessâdriven deals with payers, providers, or institutional customers
Strong understanding of market access, pricing, reimbursement, payer systems, and healthcare policy
Experience working crossâfunctionally in matrixed organizations
Excellent negotiation, communication, and executive presence
Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen
Deep understanding of healthcare market access environments
