Due to continued success and growth, we require an Industrial door & Loading Systems trainee / labourer. We are looking for a hands-on, motivated individual to support our team as a Trainee Fitter’s Mate. This is a great opportunity to develop specialist skills in a thriving industry with full training and development provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of industrial doors, shutters, dock levellers, and loading bay equipment.
- Support lead engineers on-site with tools, materials, and technical tasks.
- Work across varied industrial and commercial environments.
- Learn and develop new technical skills in mechanical, electrical, welding, and hydraulic systems.
Requirements
- Full clean UK driving licence.
- Must be 18+ – due to company insurances.
- Hands-on technical attitude and a genuine interest in engineering.
- Willingness to commit to a structured personal development programme.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, working at heights, lifting and carrying.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong awareness and adherence to health & safety practices.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime (all paid at premium rates).
- Live within commuting distance of the Nottingham Office.
- Must be able to pass a DBS check.
Desired (but not essential)
- Previous experience in a similar or transferable sector (garage doors, roller shutters, mechanical fitting).
- CSCS card.
- IPAF.
- PASMA.
- Counterbalance fork lift.
