Responsibilities

Clyde Valley Housing Association (CVHA) are recruiting for a full-time Welfare Benefits Officer to join our Customer Success team on a permanent basis. Our Welfare Benefits Officers make a real impact to the lives of our customers who may be entitled to financial support and benefits they may not be aware of. You\\\'ll also work closely with the rest of our Customer Service team, in particular our Revenue team, supporting our customers to sustain their tenancies.

  • Provide information and advice on all aspects of welfare benefits and rights to customers through a number of different communication channels, including: face to face, home visits, office appointments, emails, telephone calls, supporting forums and attending events. Advice to be given on UK and Scottish benefits.
  • Create and deliver training in key welfare benefits issues and legislation to support internal teams. Including supporting other teams to respond to frequently asked questions on Welfare Benefits in their job roles.
  • Work with other teams within the Customer Services Directorate to support them to answer common queries around welfare benefits.
  • Assist the Revenue Team to reduce current customer arrears and benefit overpayments and where appropriate provide support to assist with recovery of sums outstanding.
