We are excited to be hosting a recruitment event on Thursday 12 February for Mental Health Advisors to join our NHS 111 Mental Health (Option 2) Service.

This event is a great opportunity to:

  • Look around our Gosforth office where the service is based
  • Meet the team
  • Learn more about the service and the role
  • Interview on the day, if you wish (subject to capacity)

Drop-in session times:

We will be hosting three drop-in sessions. Please attend one of the following times:

  • 5:30pm
  • 6:15pm
  • 7:00pm

Invites will be sent the day before the event to allow you to book onto your preferred time slot.

As a Mental Health Advisor, you will provide initial telephone and text-based support to service users experiencing mental health distress and crisis. This includes:

  • Taking calls for the North Yorkshire, York and Selby NHS 111 Mental Health (Option 2) service
  • Providing text-based support to residents of South London and Maudsley

This is a 24-hour service, covering days, nights and weekends. Enhancements are paid for unsocial hours. Full-time and part-time roles are available. Part-time roles focus on weekday evenings and weekend shifts and are ideal for those looking to balance work with other daytime commitments.

Please note: This role is not eligible for sponsorship, as it does not meet the requirements set out by UK Visas and Immigration.

We would love for you to come along if you have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working 1:1 with service users with complex needs
  • Experience working within health, social care or VCSE systems
  • Awareness of health and social care systems
  • Awareness of national and local organisations and resources that support mental health
  • An understanding of recovery in the context of mental health
  • Awareness of the impact of stigma and discrimination
  • Awareness of issues surrounding homelessness, financial inclusion or substance misuse
