Overview
Step 4 High Intensity Therapist, Wirral β Hybrid working. This role is for an experienced High Intensity Practitioner in Mental Health or Talking Therapy services to work with clients with complex trauma, long-standing emotional difficulties and co-morbidities.
Responsibilities
- Allocate approximately 60% of time to direct clinical work with clients.
- Provide specialist therapy as required (eg. EMDR, DBT, CBT, Counselling Psychology, ACT).
- Evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical and therapeutic models and any complex factors.
- Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans, and initiate appropriate actions (including requests for Mental Health Act assessments and referrals to secondary care services).
- Collect psychometric data and maintain clinical records in line with service policy.
- Communicate with clients, carers, relatives and other health professionals, sharing complex information within confidentiality and ethical boundaries.
- Co-facilitate psychological groups as agreed by Clinical Lead/Service Lead.
- Provide clinical supervision to team members, as appropriate, and advise Clinical Leads/Service Lead on arising issues.
- Participate in meetings including Service Meetings and MDTs.
- Comply with professional bodies (e.g., BABCP and/or BPS), codes of conduct, procedures and applicable legislation.
About You / Qualifications
- Level 7 Diploma in CBT.
- Secondary qualification in a Talking Therapies modality (eg. EMDR, DBT, Couples Counselling).
- Accredited with a recognised professional body such as BABCP or BPS, or willing to become accredited within 12 months of employment.
- Experience in a Talking Therapies service with significant stepped-care knowledge.
- Proven experience of providing effective interventions and working with clients with complex trauma, long-standing emotional difficulties and co-morbidities.
- Knowledge of clinical supervision modalities and risk management plans.
- Experience formulating and working integratively, considering the wider context of client difficulties.
