About The Role
The Risk Referral Team centrally supports our Derbyshire Talking Therapies Team and are responsible for triaging risk into the service, supporting clinicians dealing with risk, delivering waiting list initiatives, delivering assessments and providing therapy to patients, managing risk on access and supporting risk arising for patients who are enrolled on centrally coordinated interventions. Practitioners working as part of this team deliver a broad and interesting range of interventions. You’ll also contribute to innovative, scalable approaches including webinars and group-based interventions, supporting a proactive and preventative model of care.
What You’ll Do
- Manage complex risk (conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans and conduct self‑management plans with clients), and presentations and to be able to adhere to the step care model and assess appropriateness and safety for the service/client.
- Manage a small caseload providing a range of support methods for treatment, in line with the needs of the client.
- Signpost and refer to other service providers in the statutory and voluntary sectors and redirect patients to other sources of appropriate support within the local community as required to improve patient experience and ensure needs are met.
- Triage referrals for imminent risk from online referrals, 3rd party referrers and take imminent risk calls to take action and ensure service is meeting needs.
- Develop a ‘local knowledge’ of the areas covered by RRT and its services and facilities, particularly in relation to mental health issues to keep abreast and informed.
- Provide assessment and low intensity interventions to patients in Derbyshire, drawing from CBT theories and techniques to provide an accessible and comprehensive service.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you possess the following:
- Holds a PG or UG certificate in Low Intensity Interventions from a recognised BPS accredited PWP training provider
- MSci Applied Psychology integrated with PWP qualification with dual BPS accreditation as PWP training
- PWP Apprenticeship training qualification from a BPS accredited PWP training programme
- Hold PWP Registration (or be working towards) with BABCP or BPS.
- Demonstrable experience of working with people with complex mental health needs
- Demonstrable experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem utilising low intensity CBT in the PWP role.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a high‑volume caseload
- Demonstrable experience of working within a Talking Therapies service and achieving good individual outcomes in patient work
- Demonstrable experience of meeting agreed performance targets in a service demonstrating clinical outcomes
- Demonstrable experience in robust risk management processes
- Demonstrable experience of working with clients who may present as highly emotive and at times present as aggressive or difficult
- Detailed understanding of PWP with continued evidence of CPD
- Detailed understanding of complex mental health conditions and behaviours relating to or equivalent experience
