We have an exciting opportunity for a Governance and Compliance Administrator to join our Governance and Quality Team in Newcastle!

As our Governance and Compliance Administrator, you be a key member of the governance and quality team and support general administration functions.

You will be responsible for dealing with access to records requests, managing requests in their entirety, identifying problems or issues with requests, managing these where appropriate and escalating when necessary.

This role is Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship as is does not meet the requirements as set out by the UK Visa and Immigration Service

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the organisations Subject Access Request Policy and Procedures are followed, dealing with all access to records requests appropriately in order to comply with national legislation and guidance and local policy and standards.
  • Support the Information Governance Manager by ensuring that the organisation’s Subject Access Request policy and procedures are followed appropriately in compliance with national legislation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Information Governance Manager.
  • Provide administrative support to the Quality & Safety Forum and Health & Safety Committee.
  • Monitor the Quality & Safety Team inbox, prioritising and flagging emails for action and notifying relevant colleagues as required.
  • Support the Quality, Governance & Risk Directorate with the organisation of meetings, publication of newsletters, and general administrative support as required

About you

  • Experience of working in a health and social care environment.
  • Experience and / or an understanding of Data protection and GDPR.
  • Experience of dealing with personal records access requests and systems.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of the principles of clinical governance, audit, data protection and information governance including individual’s right of access to their information.
  • Understanding a wide range of governance guidelines and their impact on clinical practice
  • Understanding of the clinical, contractual and governance requirements of working within an NHS framework
