As a leading mental health charity delivering integrated health and wellbeing services across England, we're seeking an experienced and passionate individual to join our Board of Trustees and become a member of our Quality and Governance Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise, influence strategic direction, and help ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and governance across our services.
About the role
As a Trustee and member of the Quality and Governance Committee, you will share collective responsibility for the charity's strategic direction, organisational effectiveness, and financial accountability. You will provide scrutiny, challenge, and assurance to support safe, effective, and high-quality services. Working alongside fellow trustees and senior leaders, you will:
- Contribute to the overall governance and strategic leadership of Everyturn Mental Health
- Support oversight of quality, clinical governance, safeguarding, compliance, and risk management
- Review and challenge performance, quality, and assurance reports
- Help ensure the organisation meets its legal, regulatory, and charitable obligations
- Promote Everyturn's mission, values, and reputation within your professional networks
- Support the continued delivery of our ambitious 10-year strategy
Quality and Governance Committee Responsibilities
As a committee member, you will help provide assurance in areas including:
- Clinical governance and quality improvement
- Safeguarding adults and children
- Health and safety compliance
- Information governance and data protection
- Regulatory compliance and organisational risk management
- Board Assurance Framework oversight
- Learning from incidents and embedding improvements across services
What we're looking for:
- Senior leadership or board-level experience
- Knowledge of healthcare, mental health, clinical governance, quality assurance, safeguarding, risk, regulation, or related sectors
- Strategic thinking and sound judgement
- A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Passion for improving mental health outcomes and supporting communities
- The ability to provide constructive support and challenge within a governance setting
Commitment
This voluntary role includes:
- Four Board meetings per year (held in Newcastle upon Tyne)
- Quarterly Quality and Governance Committee meetings (held virtually via Microsoft Teams)
- An annual Board development away day
- Occasional additional meetings where required
