We're looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Estates to lead and develop our national property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our estate, ensuring our environments are safe, sustainable, compliant, and fit for the needs of the people we support and the colleagues who deliver our services.

Reporting to the Director of Estates, Sustainability and Social Value, you'll provide leadership across our Estates and Facilities function, driving both operational excellence and long-term estate strategy. This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to work from our Head Office in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne, alongside travel to our services across the UK as required.

Please note: Due to the requirements of this role, it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car. This role is not eligible for sponsorship as it does not meet the requirements set out by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the strategic and operational management of Everyturn’s national estate.
  • Provide expert advice to senior leaders on estate strategy, investment and risk.
  • Ensure all properties remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.
  • Lead estates budgets, financial planning and investment programmes.
  • Oversee capital projects, refurbishments and property developments.
  • Manage relationships with landlords, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies.
  • Support organisational growth through property acquisition and estate planning.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and contribute to our long-term environmental goals.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing Estates and Facilities team.

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree in a relevant Estates subject.
  • Membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Significant experience in estates, facilities or property management at a senior level.
  • Significant experience of Net Zero and Sustainability principles.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, capital projects and property portfolios.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of compliance, health and safety, and estate-related legislation.
  • Experience working with external partners, contractors and professional advisers.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term planning with operational delivery.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability and service excellence.
