Full-time role but part-time applications will be considered. Our Litigation Department deals with a broad range of civil litigation work and currently comprises ten fee earners together with support staff. We are now expanding the employment services that we currently offer and are considering applications from experienced employment lawyers who are able to take ownership and responsibility for their own caseload.
The successful candidate will have about 3 to 5 years employment experience post qualification and could be a CILEX with full practising rights, or a solicitor. We would be willing to consider those with a greater level of post qualification experience, if they are able/willing to learn new areas of litigation other than employment law; and/or have a good track record in business development and/or a client following. This is an area of growth for the litigation team and the candidate will be required to grow the employment work using their own initiative. Initially, it is anticipated that the working day will concentrate on business development.
You will be based at our Exeter office where you will need to spend at least three days per week, but hybrid working is available once you have passed your probation or you are fully integrated into the team. You will need to travel out to other offices on occasion for the purpose of client meetings and/or marketing events. Involvement in the firm’s marketing and business development plan is an important part of the job, as is the ability to have and follow through ideas for actively developing new sources of employment work.
