We are seeking an ambitious and driven Assistant General Manager who can truly make a difference, someone who motivates teams, delivers high standards, and is ready to develop into the next General Manager, taking on this role and embracing our brand mission of 30 minutes of activity 5 times a week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving income targets and financial KPIs, supporting health and safety, and driving operational excellence whilst supporting the development of the centre and the team. They will be in a senior management role supporting the General Manager in all aspects of the business.
Based at Horfield Leisure Centre in Bristol, this is an exciting opportunity to join a centre that continues to go from strength to strength following a multimillion-pound refurbishment in 2025. With over 6,300 fitness members, more than 2,600 children enrolled in swimming lessons, and over one million visits each year, Horfield is truly the place to be.
We need an Assistant General Manager who will:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the centre ensuring that the highest levels of customer service and safety are achieved.
- Lead on areas such as increasing activity and ensure all programming is working effectively.
- Be both a role model for the centre's team and make the centre a fun and friendly environment for both colleagues and customers alike.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a good understanding of IT.
- In the absence of the General Manager, step up to the role as needed.
Health & Safety qualifications are required but will need to be achieved within a set timescale if not qualified. This position will involve day, evening, and weekend work, including public holidays. You may be required to cover shifts.
