We are looking for an experienced Master Technician / Race Mechanic to join our team at Donington Park and take responsibility for the preparation, maintenance and on-event support of our high-performance vehicle fleet. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced mechanic who understands performance cars and, ideally, has significant experience working with Ariel Atom cars, whether in a race, track or driving-experience environment.

The Role

As our Master Technician / Race Mechanic, you will play a key role in ensuring our cars are prepared to the highest possible mechanical and safety standards. Your primary focus will initially be our Ariel Atom fleet, with the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience across our wider fleet of single-seater and performance cars. You will be responsible for both workshop-based preparation and providing mechanical support at driving experience events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis on Ariel Atom cars.
  • Prepare cars to a high mechanical and safety standard ahead of customer driving events.
  • Carry out pre-event inspections and race/track preparation.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide on-the-day race/event mechanical support, ensuring vehicles remain safe, reliable and ready for customer use.
  • Carry out routine checks, inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor vehicle condition and identify potential issues before they become problems.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance and inspection records.
  • Work closely with the Events and Operations teams to ensure the fleet is ready for each event.
  • Support the maintenance and preparation of other single-seater and performance cars within the fleet.
  • Assist with vehicle setup and preparation where required.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with appropriate safety standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment.
  • Be prepared to travel occasionally to support events at other UK circuits when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is more than a general automotive mechanic. You will ideally have a strong background in motorsport, race preparation, track cars or high-performance vehicles.

Essential:

  • Significant experience as a qualified or highly experienced automotive technician/mechanic.
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
  • Extensive experience working on Ariel Atom vehicles.
  • Experience preparing performance or track cars for use on circuit.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly around vehicle safety and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of vehicle preparation.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure when issues arise at events.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and mechanical standards.

Highly desirable:

  • Previous race mechanic or motorsport experience.
  • Experience working with single-seater race cars.
  • Experience of race preparation and trackside support.
  • Experience with vehicle setup, suspension, brakes and performance optimisation.
  • Motorsport qualifications or relevant technical training.

Working Pattern

The standard working week is Monday to Friday. You will also be required to be available to work two Saturdays per month to support our driving experience events. For the additional Saturday working, you will have the choice of:

  • Additional payment on top of your salary, or
  • A day off in lieu during the working week.

Occasional additional travel to other UK circuits may also be required as part of the role.

What We’re Looking For

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for motorsport, performance cars and mechanical engineering and wants to work with an exciting fleet in a customer-focused environment. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they have hands-on Ariel Atom experience and understand what is required to prepare and maintain these cars for intensive circuit use. If you have worked as a race mechanic, motorsport technician, senior/master technician or performance-car specialist, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

Why Join Everyman Driving Experiences?

  • Work with an exciting fleet of performance and single-seater cars.
  • Be based at the iconic Donington Park circuit.
  • Opportunity to develop your experience across a wider range of performance and motorsport vehicles.
  • A varied role combining workshop preparation with live event support.
  • Work within a passionate and growing driving experiences business.
  • Competitive salary based on your experience and technical ability.

If you have the technical expertise, attention to detail and passion for performance cars to keep our fleet performing at its best, we’d love to hear from you.
