Overview

Are you passionate about supporting and inspiring the next generation? We\’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Lead to join our team and plan, create and deliver targeted youth work at our new weekly youth sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivery of targeted sessions for children of ages 11 – 15.
  • Evaluate targeted diverse youth programs.
  • Line manage youth support worker/s to ensure effective targeted youth work is delivered within agreed policy.
  • Develop and Maintain positive relationships with young people, allowing delivery of effective targeted youth work.
  • Engage with young people to create and deliver informal and accredited learning opportunities.
  • Act as advocate for young people through representation at meetings involving Parish Council, Agency and Partnerships.
  • Work with partner agencies to engage young people across various services and parent agencies to re-engage with provision/services.
  • Promote and empower targeted and vulnerable young people to participate to gain positive outcomes in personal, social, health and well-being and education development to reduce risk taking behaviour and risk of harm.
  • Hold Level 3 in Youth Work or Youth Studies or Level 3 in working with children and young people, or families.
  • A good understanding of health & safety legislation and working practises and the ability to write and adhere to operating procedures and risk assessments, and a strong appreciation of safeguarding policies.
  • Ability to motivate individuals and support behaviour change.
  • Knowledge of young people and issues and barriers they are facing.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of national frameworks and guidance around working with young people, council structures and procedures.
  • Experience of assessing the needs of young people using assessment tools.
  • Commitment to creating a safe and encouraging atmosphere.
  • This role is created in partnership with Holmes Chapel Parish Council.

Contract, Hours and Location

  • Contract: 12 Month (Term-Time Only Contract)
  • Hours: 4 Hrs per week
  • Salary: £16.09 per hour
  • Location: Holmes Chapel Community Centre
