About the role
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) - Outbound is responsible for proactively identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers. This role is critical to building a strong sales pipeline by initiating outbound outreach and setting qualified meetings for Business Development Executives and Account Executives.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume, high-quality outbound outreach across multiple channels (email, phone, LinkedIn, and other platforms)
- Proactively prospect target accounts and buyer personas using tools such as CRM, LinkedIn, and marketing campaign lists
- Conduct outbound messaging that clearly articulates the company’s value proposition and addresses prospect pain points
- Qualify outbound leads based on defined criteria (BANT)
- Book qualified discovery meetings and hand off well-qualified opportunities to Business Development Executives and Account Executives
- Partner with Business Development Executives and Account Executives to prospect for territory specific campaigns
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospecting activities in the CRM
- Consistently meet or exceed opportunity, pipeline, and meeting-set targets
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to improve messaging, targeting, and campaign performance
- Continuously test and optimize outreach strategies, sequences, and talk tracks
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer challenges
Qualifications
- 1+ years of B2B experience in sales, customer-facing, or similar roles (experience as an SDR and with Enterprise accounts a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage prospects confidently and professionally
- High level of coachability, resilience, and comfort with rejection
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement tools (e.g., Gong, Consensus, ChiliPiper) and Google Suite
- Strong research and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Interest in building a career in sales and developing toward a Business Development Executive/Account Executive role
