Opportunity
Due to a period of maternity leave, we have an opportunity within the Women’s Academy for an Academy Physiotherapist – Women’s Football.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality physiotherapy services to players in the EFCW Academy, focusing on treatment and all stages of the rehabilitation pathway.
- Assist with the coordination of medical services on match days.
- Organise and implement screening programmes, pre‑hab and rehab strategies where required.
- Maintain a high standard of professional practice, including keeping current with practice developments and updating qualifications.
- Upload data and information to Kitman Labs.
- Lead the department’s contributions to the PGAAC criteria.
- Apply to FA Doping programme and anti‑doping legislation.
- Implement equity, diversity, and social inclusion principles.
- Safeguard and protect vulnerable adults.
- Ensure health and safety within the workplace.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in Physiotherapy, or equivalent.
- Full Membership to a relevant professional membership organisation.
- Adequate indemnity insurance.
- FA Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF).
- Full membership of the Society of Sport Therapy.
- Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
- United Kingdom Anti‑Doping (UKAD) Clean Sport Essentials and Introduction to Clean Sport.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge and experience of strength and conditioning requirements of an elite footballer.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in injury prevention and rehabilitation principles, and monitoring rehabilitation of multiple individuals concurrently.
- Ability to work with players of various ages in a supportive and professional manner.
- Ability to maintain accurate medico‑legal recording.
- Willingness to travel to various locations for training, games, and tournaments.
Employment Details
Contract type: 12‑month fixed‑term.
Working hours: 35 hours per week.
Primary location: Finch Farm Training Facility, Halewood, Liverpool (with required travel).
