About the opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Grounds Supervisor to join us at our Finch Farm training ground to lead the maintenance of the Academy playing surfaces and associated facilities to the world-class standards associated with Premier League football. The Academy Grounds Supervisor will be responsible for the planning of daily, weekly and monthly grounds maintenance tasks and will be the grounds team's face for Academy coaches and management, listening to and dealing with any concerns and problems that they have.
As part of the Finch Farm grounds management group, the Academy Grounds Supervisor will be closely and cooperatively working with the Head Groundsperson of Finch Farm and First Team Grounds Supervisor to ensure daily staff allocation is suitable and that equipment and other resources are prioritised for the needs of the whole site.
Who we're looking for: Essentially, we are looking for an individual who has experience of working within an elite footballing environment specifically working within an outdoor sports facility. Our successful candidate will also demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience:
- Excellent knowledge of plant care including weeds, pests and diseases.
- Excellent knowledge of using machinery/tools.
- Able to inspire, train and mentor others.
- Experience working within turf-management.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and related topics.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Can do attitude.
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
- Ability to work as a team player.
Essential Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ in Sports-turf Management, or equivalent.
- PA1, PA2 and PA6 Spraying Qualifications.
