About the opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Family Mentor to join our Children and Youth Services.
AsFamily Support Mentoryouwill inspire and empower young people, adults and families to pursue positive change, live healthier lives andtransitionand contribute towards creating stronger communities and brighter futures
The Family Support Mentor willbe responsible fordelivering our family support programme, working closely with the Family Support Co-ordinator to ensure programmes align with the goals andobjectivesof EITCs five-year strategy - Trinity Project.
Other Key Responsibilities:

Deliver both 1-1 personalised mentoring support, and small targeted group work, raising awareness ofvarious topics.

Deliver sessions that support the achievement of both formal and informal qualifications.

To work with internal and external partners in supporting our participants/families into ETE and/or other support pathways following their time on programme, including referring and sign posting family members and young people into the diverse range of programmes at EITC.

Engage in training opportunities tomaintainand improve skills relevant to supporting participants & families.

Support participants in planning next steps, including education, employment, or training pathways.

Support participants in developing coping mechanisms, resilience, and social skills.
Safeguarding

To understand the Clubs Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines

To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices,appropriate reportingof concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment
Who we are looking for: We are looking for an individual who has experience of working with young people and adults from a variety ofdifferent backgroundsanddelivering workshops and targeted interventions.
Other Skills,Knowledgeand Experience

VRQ/NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject e.g. health and social care, youth work, education, social work, community work.

IT literate toa good leveland competent

Certificate/Training in Safeguarding

Relevant Mentoring Qualifications

Training/Awareness in adult/young people Mental Health

Experience of 1-to-1 support work with young people and adults; to include assessment, intervention planning and deliver of action plans

Experience of working within social work, health and/ or social care, adult service

A passion for growing and developing programmes thatprovide life changing opportunities for participants and families
