About the opportunity: We have an opportunity within Everton Women Medical Department for a Physiotherapist to work with our Women's First Team. The role of First Team Physiotherapist Women's Football will be a key member of the medical department providing world-class physiotherapy services to the EFCW First Team. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Assessment
  • Injury Prevention
  • Gym Based Rehabilitation
  • Pitch Based Rehabilitation
  • Return to Play Testing & Monitoring

Working as part of a multidisciplinary performance team, the First Team Physiotherapist will optimise player availability and performance while promoting a culture of excellence, professionalism, and athlete welfare. As part of the responsibilities of the role, there will be an expectation to maintain a high level of professional practice and behaviour which includes the renewing of all required qualifications ensuring they are maintained to enable professional/regulatory memberships and insurances. This should include, but not be limited to:

  • Physiotherapy; practicalities and applications
  • FA Doping programme and anti-doping legislation
  • Equity, diversity, and social inclusion
  • Safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable adults
  • Health and safety within the workplace and relevant practices

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Design and implement injury prevention programmes based on individual risk profiling
  • Ensure compliance with FA, Women's Super League, FIFA, UEFA, and relevant governing body medical regulations

Who we're looking for: Essentially, we are looking for an individual who has significant experience within an elite sporting environment and who has proven experience delivering return-to-play programmes in a high-performance environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge & understanding of the performance requirements of an elite women's football player
  • Strong understanding of sports injury rehabilitation and load management
  • Knowledge of FA rules and regulations
  • Ability to maintain accurate medico-legal recording
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes that meet the needs of the department

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy
  • Full Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Adequate indemnity insurance
  • FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMiF)
  • UKAD Clean Sport Advisor

This role will be offered on a Permanent Contract, working 40 hours per week located at our Finch Farm Training Facility in Halewood however, there will be a requirement to travel to various locations for training, games, and tournaments.
