Since 1988, Everton in the Community has become a dynamic force for good, harnessing the unifying power of football to drive social change and addressing societal challenges across Liverpool City Region. Supported by a team of over 130 full-time staff and over 200 volunteers, the independently governed and independently financed charity offers an extensive array of more than 60 programmes and initiatives that tackle a diverse range of social issues including health, employability, anti-social behaviour, crime, exploitation, education, dementia, and disability.

Everton in the Community stands firmly beside the most at-risk and most in need members of its local communities, but the needs of the city are ever-growing and ever-evolving and the official charity of Everton Football Club is committed to helping as many people as possible.

About the opportunity:

Everton in the Community delivers early intervention programmes that support young people at risk of underachieving, disengaging from education, or becoming involved in crime or antisocial behaviour. As part of our continued expansion across the Liverpool City Region, we are recruiting a Pathways Coordinator to coordinate and deliver targeted sector-based programmes within partner schools and across our wider Children and Youth programmes. The role will support young people to raise their aspirations, develop employability skills and progress into education, employment or training. The Pathways Coordinator will contribute to Everton in the Community’s Impact Model and Everton Learns Strategy, which aim to engage, inspire and support young people to achieve their potential.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring delivery is impact and outcome driven using robust impact assessment tools.
  • Providing alignment to national frameworks where possible (Gatsby benchmark).
  • Coordination of sector-based programmes and workshops exposing young people to a range of industries such as sport, construction and digital sectors.
  • To coordinate employer engagement opportunities including workplace visits, guest speakers and community partners to support progression opportunities.
  • To coordinate and deliver sector-based qualifications and progression opportunities that enhance outcomes for young people.
  • Overseeing the work of staff providing direction, support, and motivation to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated and has the ability to motivate and inspire young people to learn, achieve and aspire. Experienced in delivering classroom-based sessions to 13–16-year-olds our ideal candidate will also demonstrate the below skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of different learning styles.
  • To be fully IT literate with the ability to use MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A proven track-record of delivering impactful initiatives with young people.
  • Ability to create Schemes of Work and lesson plans.
  • To have the ability to work on own initiative and the ability to plan, manage and monitor work effectively.
  • Approachable and empathic, with excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a diverse range of people to strive towards ambitious life goals.

This position will be offered on Fixed Term Contract, with the role being based across our Everton in the Community campus.
