About the opportunity:

Everton in the Community is seeking to appoint a number of Casual Primary Education Coach(es) who will deliver and monitor high quality primary school programmes to schools throughout Merseyside, to increase participation among participants of all abilities.

As a Primary Education Casual Coach, you will deliver and evaluate high quality classroom interventions in maths, English and PSHE alongside upskilling and developing teacher subject knowledge when delivering the PE National Curriculum. This may include whole class support, targeted group or targeted individual support.

You will inspire and empower young people to pursue positive change, live healthier lives and transition and contribute towards creating ‘stronger communities and brighter futures’.

Please be advised this is not a football coaching role.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of lessons pre-planned for Primary Stars program to children aged 5-11
  • Support teachers in enhancing PE and school sport skills
  • Deliver the following to a variety of ages and individual needs including; Maths, English and PSHE targeted interventions/mentoring. Football focused delivery, Girls football ASC, Social action, SEN/D provision, Transition from KS2 to KS3 and Attendance. Ensuring that all activities delivered reflect the national curriculum and OFSTED guidelines

Safeguarding

  • To understand the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines
  • To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to an Anti-bullying environment

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for individuals who have previous experience of working in schools and community settings specifically within the 5-11 age group and who have been identified as SEND and who have good knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals skills of a number of sports.

Essential qualifications include:

  • NGB level 2 in at least one sport

This position will be offered on a Casual basis working as and when required to suit the needs of the programme.

The main location for this role will be within the Everton in the Community campus. However, the postholder will be required to be mobile across schools and community venues across Merseyside.
