The Role
You will be based in our Leeds office and will work on a national basis within the D&R sub-group of the National Planning Team. The D&R sub group prides itself on its ability to advise clients throughout the building life cycle – from the strategic planning advice required at the outset of a project, through acquisition and financing issues that may arise, to delivery of the consented scheme. You will participate in the full range of work undertaken by the team and, although based in Leeds, the role requires a national focus. You will work with local colleagues, assist other members of the national planning team, take an active role in the supervision and mentoring of junior colleagues, and play a lead role alongside partners in marketing and business development opportunities. From the outset, you will take on a client‑facing role and be expected to manage junior resources efficiently and effectively.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified planning lawyer with 6+ years’ post‑qualification experience
- Demonstrable experience in development and regeneration matters
- Ability to manage client relationships effectively and contribute to the wider success of the team
- Experience of supervising/mentoring junior colleagues (beneficial but not essential)
What’s in it for you
- Fair, transparent and equitable terms
- Share in the success of the firm, reward alignment to our values, and recognition of individual performance
- Flexible ways of working through our remote working policy and commitment to agile and hybrid arrangements
- Health and performance support including dental, healthcare and wellness
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Structured professional and personal training, mentoring and development programs
- International and cross‑function exposure
- Opportunity to give back through pro bono work and community engagement
- Retirement planning, insurance and assurance support
