Our team is an international Banking & Finance Practice Group with an enviable list of clients and transactions. We regularly advise high profile clients, consisting of UK and global financial institutions, private equity houses, funds and corporates on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. The breadth and quality of work that we undertake sets us apart from many of our competitors.
We are looking to build out our practice and have ambitious plans for growth. Our PSL team supports the Banking & Finance practice and we are looking for someone to join our team of Finance PSLs at a Senior Associate level with a minimum of 4PQE.
Role and key responsibilities:- Drafting/updating/managing/improving the content of team precedents;
- Updating and writing team guidance notes and toolkits;
- Researching and writing internal and client facing bulletins, briefings and horizon scanning reports;
- Collating current awareness and sector hot topics, with recourse to market source providers;
- Leading on sector critical matters with the support of senior team partners and senior assistants;
- Organising team training, including writing/updating training materials, presenting training (both face to face and online), as well as contributing to the very successful annual NQ induction course;
- Managing the team know-how bank with the support of PSL team assistants;
- Supporting key clients with training and knowledge services;
- Liaising with the Eversheds Sutherland Legal Technology Group in respect of legal technology developments for the use of the finance team;
- Supporting the UK Finance team on ad hoc queries;
- Working on process improvement initiatives (firm wide and team wide).
The successful candidate will be focused on support across our Finance team and have the opportunity to work with our existing senior Finance PSLs. Our Finance PSLs work closely together and many of the projects noted above are run on a joint basis.
Skills and experience:- Have at least 4 years post qualification experience in banking law, with a focus on transactional work;
- Show a good knowledge of the legal technology tools available in the market;
- Be a team player and a self-starter with a wide finance perspective;
- Have a strong interest in the black letter law, excellent technical skills and an eye for detail;
- Be confident in business and legal written and spoken English.
Experience as a PSL is helpful, but is not a requirement of this role. We are open to both candidates wishing to work full time, or part time, working flexibly with a minimum of 0.7FTE.
