Senior Associate – Commercial Technology – National any office

We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Commercial Technology team on a national basis.

Our team
Our Commercial Technology team handles complex, headline-making deals across emerging tech (including AI), IT and tech-led outsourcing. The team collaborates with our IP, privacy and strategic contracts colleagues and has a strong track record in negotiating and drafting technology agreements and enabling clients to achieve their objectives. We bring extensive experience in e-commerce and technology-based environments including AI, cloud, automation, additive manufacturing and blockchain, and have advised on significant outsourcing projects. We are known for our expertise in the financial services sector, advising institutions on regulatory aspects of IT projects and cloud services, and we regularly work with both large organisations and Fintech/Regtech players. Our client base also includes leading technology and IT services providers.
Role and key responsibilities
We are actively recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Commercial Technology team. The workload is varied and we seek a lawyer who has worked across a range of technology-related contracts.
As part of this role you can expect to be involved in:
- Advising on technology contracts for a broad range of customers and suppliers, including traditional IT and outsourcing contracts and contracts for innovative technologies such as AI systems and services.
- Advising on technology-related regulatory requirements, particularly in relation to the financial services sector and AI deployments.
- Supporting on the technology aspects of corporate deals.
- Participating in business development initiatives, including client seminars, internal training and client briefing papers.
Skills and experience
You should have a solid grounding in technology law, strong analytical skills and attention to detail, and be able to communicate effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds. You should be able to build strong relationships and engage in business development activities, with detailed knowledge of contract terms and key commercial/operational issues in technology deals.
We are looking for:
- Experience advising on the full range of IT and outsourcing contracts.
- A keen interest in technology, including artificial intelligence.
- Minimum of 3 years PQE advising on outsourcing and technology contracts; AI experience is an advantage.
- A good grounding in technology and commercial law, including related regulations.
