As Tax Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the end-to-end partner personal tax compliance process for internal partners across the firm. This includes the preparation and submission of tax returns, liaison with HMRC and partners, and ongoing maintenance of compliance tracking and reporting. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of income tax returns and amended tax returns for internal partners.
- Preparation and coordination of tax return information requests.
- Preparation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns.
- Support of the wider tax compliance process, including correspondence with internal partners.
- Manage payment requests, including HMRC payments, queries and correspondence.
- Maintenance and updating of tracker spreadsheets to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
- Assistance with PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement) analysis.
- Identification and implementation of innovative solutions to improve processes, applying best practice to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within a global law firm and wider Finance team environment.

- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Able to work to deadlines and at pace.
- Ability to problem-solve and understand data analysis reports and findings.
