The Opportunity
We are seeking a Legal Project Manager to join our Litigation & Dispute Management team. We welcome candidates with relevant experience, business professionals with transferable skills, and individuals at a junior level seeking training and development. This role can be based in our Leeds, Cardiff, Manchester, or Birmingham offices, offering an excellent opportunity to help shape and advance the firm’s legal project management approach within a leading national practice.
Working closely with lawyers on complex, high-value disputes, you will play a key role in developing and embedding project management programmes, tools, and methodologies that support both the practice group and our clients’ needs. You will join a collaborative Legal Project Management and legal tech team alongside a Senior Legal Project Manager, giving you meaningful scope to influence how the function evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development of project management tools, methodologies, resources, and technologies
- Supporting lawyers in the effective use of legal project management tools and technologies
- Building and strengthening client relationships
- Creating matter plans, budgets, workflows, timelines, defining scope, assumptions, and prices for large/complex disputes
- Proactively managing changes in scope, identifying risks, and developing contingencies
- Working with the Finance team to produce financial progress reports, analysing work in progress across multiple workstreams, identifying out-of-scope actions, and revising scope where required
- Preparing detailed and accurate fee reports
- Identifying opportunities to improve process, policy, and procedure
- Supporting the growth of the legal project management function through internal and external business development activity, such as pitches and client proposals
- Identifying opportunities to drive efficiencies and profitability across the Litigation & Dispute Management practice group
- Staying informed about developments in legal project management, including emerging tools, technologies, and best-practice approaches, to support continuous improvement.

- Experience managing projects in a legal environment, either as a project manager, business professional, or lawyer with project delivery responsibilities
- Demonstrable experience using project management tools and technology
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and work across multiple workstreams
