People Operations Team Leader – Cyclical Activity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a People Operations Team Leader to join the People Services Team within the International People Operations team based in Birmingham city centre.

This hybrid role requires working 3 days on site in the Birmingham Office. As part of the HR Shared Service, you will contribute to the employee experience, introduce new technology, and manage People Operations across the firm.

Role & Key Responsibilities

The role of the People Operations Team Leader is to drive service excellence and data accuracy within the Cyclical Activity Hub, ensuring key deliverables are met. You will provide direct line management to 2-4 People Operations Administrators and work closely with the Emerging Talent team.

  • Direct line management of 2-4 People Operations Administrators
  • Work collaboratively with all Team Leaders within the People Services team
  • Oversee and monitor the internal ticketing system, ensuring high priority tickets are actioned in a timely manner
  • Delegate tasks to team members and support team members with prioritisation
  • Support the team with actioning BAU tasks, especially during peak times
  • Produce weekly reports to support the business and People Management Team
  • Ensure all tasks are processed in a timely manner and a seamless onboarding process for trainees, apprentices, interns and summer vacation scheme populations
  • Ensure trainees, apprentices, interns and summer vacation scheme students are added to the internal system promptly and with 100% data accuracy
  • Quality check People Operations Administrator’s data entry and provide team members with real-time constructive feedback
  • Upskill and coach team members to deliver a customer‑centric HR service
  • Investigate escalation and queries as required
  • Respond to queries and requests as required

Skills & Experience

  • Attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and manage high volumes of work while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and work at pace
  • Put the employee’s experience at the heart of all tasks
  • Fantastic organisational skills and ability to multi‑task
  • Proactive, willing to challenge and confident to recommend changes and improvements
  • Experience of working in a fast‑paced team, ideally globally and in a HR Service Centre environment
  • Experience handling high volume work within a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to think on your feet and find solutions to challenges
  • Understanding of HR Service Function is a distinct advantage
  • Experience at team leader/supervisor level is a distinct advantage
  • Good stakeholder management experience
  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel
