A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a People Operations Team Leader to join the People Services Team within the People Operations team based in Birmingham city centre. This is a hybrid role, with a current requirement of working 3 days on site in the Birmingham Office.

You will work as part of a professional and energetic team that is at a pivotal point of change, introducing new technology to enhance our HR service delivery. You can expect to get involved right across the spectrum of HR activity to make a real difference to our business.

The role of the People Operations Team Leader will be to drive service excellence and data accuracy within the Onboarding & Admin Hub, ensuring key deliverables are met. Having previous experience working within a HR Service Function, you will have strong experience of HR systems, policy and procedures. You will also provide direct line management to 4-5 People Operations Administrators.

You will be expected to work closely with the other hub team leaders and will need to have an excellent ability to manage relationships and expectations. You will be responsible for a variety of People Operations Team Leader activities which will include:

  • Direct line management of 4-5 People Operations Administrators
  • Working collaboratively with all People Operations Team Leaders within the People Services team
  • Become the subject matter expert in the Onboarding & Admin hub and represent the team
  • Oversee and monitor the internal ticketing system, ensuring high priority tickets are actioned in a timely manner
  • Delegating tasks to team members and supporting team members with prioritisation
  • Managing the relationship with our employment screening provider matrix security watchdog
  • Producing weekly reports to support the business and People Management Team
  • Ensuring all tasks are processed in a timely manner and a seamless onboarding experience for our employees
  • Managing projects and overseeing project work that is processed by the team
  • Quality check data entry carried out by the team and providing team members with real time constructive feedback
  • Enhancing current processes to ensure we deliver service excellence
  • Upskilling and coaching team members to deliver a customer centric HR service
  • Investigating escalations and queries as required
  • Responding to queries and requests as required

We are looking for:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced HR Shared Service team, ideally in a global business
  • Knowledge of employment screening processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks depending on urgency and stakeholder needs
