EverQuote is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. As a senior member of the team you will be instrumental in the design and delivery of key business applications and solutions, influencing architecture decisions, and ensuring we build scalable, performant, easy‑to‑maintain and cost‑optimised solutions. You will also mentor the team, providing technical insight and guidance.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and delivery of key business applications and solutions.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers within the team and organisation.
- Adhere to our Software Development processes while improving Engineering culture by identifying and addressing inefficiencies.
- Proactively engage with cross‑functional stakeholders including Product Managers and Architecture team.
Essential Criteria
- Third‑level degree in Information Technology or Computer Science related field.
- 5+ years of professional programming experience, including experience at a software product company.
- Experience supporting cloud platforms at scale (AWS), working with infrastructure as code, container orchestration environments (preferably Kubernetes) and observability platforms.
- Hands‑on Back‑End Experience.
- Proficient in TypeScript.
- Experienced in continuous integration and deployment tools.
Desirable Criteria
- Security‑first approach with a strong focus on secure delivery of application software and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
- Proficient in deploying infrastructure via Terraform.
- UI development experience (e.g. React).
- Cloud‑native services (AWS).
- Engineering systems/applications at scale.
- Microservice architecture.
- Continuous integration and deployment tools.
