We’re recruiting Registered Nurses across the Southwest to become Functional Assessors, offering you the opportunity to use your clinical judgement, communication and assessment skills in a structured professional role. You’ve built valuable clinical knowledge as a Registered Nurse. But your next career move doesn’t have to mean another ward, another night shift or another traditional nursing role. This is a hybrid position, combining working from home with site-based assessments while allowing you to continue using the clinical knowledge and professional judgement you’ve developed throughout your nursing career.
What will you be doing?
As a Functional Assessor, you’ll speak with individuals to understand their health conditions and how these affect their everyday life and ability to function. Rather than providing treatment or hands-on care, you’ll:
- Complete detailed health and functional assessments
- Undertake Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessments or Work Capability Assessments (WCA)
- Discuss physical and mental health conditions
- Review clinical information and supporting evidence
- Apply your nursing knowledge and clinical reasoning
- Produce clear, evidence-based assessment reports
- Speak with individuals from a wide variety of clinical backgrounds
No previous Functional Assessor experience is required. You’ll receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you transfer your existing nursing skills into the role.
