Forensic Psychologist looking for a senior role where you can make a genuine impact? This is an opportunity to join a dedicated

Psychological Services team within a secure custodial environment , working with individuals who present with complex needs, challenging offending histories and varying levels of risk.

You'll use your psychological expertise to support rehabilitation, reduce risk and influence positive outcomes, while also playing an important role in supporting colleagues, developing others and contributing to the wider psychological service.

The Role

As a Senior Forensic Psychologist, you'll provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention, working closely with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Completing forensic risk assessments, psychological assessments and formulations for individuals with complex offending histories.
  • Developing psychologically informed approaches to risk management and rehabilitation.
  • Delivering and supporting evidence‑based psychological interventions.
  • Working with individuals presenting with complex needs, including personality disorder, autism, learning disabilities and trauma‑related difficulties .
  • Providing specialist psychological advice within multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
  • Contributing to

MAPPA, Parole Board and Offender Personality Disorder pathway discussions.

  • Preparing high‑quality psychological reports and presenting professional evidence where required.
  • Supporting effective treatment planning and sentence planning through psychological expertise.
  • Providing consultation, training and guidance to wider teams.
  • Supervising and supporting

Forensic Psychologists and Forensic Psychologists in Training (FPi Ts) .

  • Contributing to research, audit, service development and continuous improvement within Psychological Services.

What We're Looking For

  • HCPC registration as a

Forensic Psychologist and/or Chartered Psychologist status with the BPS.

  • Post-qualification experience within a forensic, secure or custodial setting.
  • Experience completing forensic risk assessments and psychological formulations.
  • Experience working with complex presentations and offending behaviour.
  • Strong report‑writing skills and the ability to present psychological information clearly.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of offender rehabilitation and the

Offender Personality Disorder pathway .

  • Experience using appropriate psychometric and forensic assessment measures.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting developing psychologists.

Prison experience is highly desirable , alongside experience with specialist forensic measures such as PCL-R and IPDE.
