We are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected client, who is looking to expand their team with the addition of an experienced Costs Draftsperson. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working and self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail, who thrives working independently and is confident managing deadlines and targets. There is also the potential for future progression, including the opportunity to lead a small team or manage a dedicated client account.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience in a Costs Drafting role (essential)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage their own caseload.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Experience using Proclaim and Costs Master would be advantageous (but not essential).
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting bills of costs for a variety of cases including PI claims, industrial disease claims, commercial matters, clinical negligence claims, and credit claims.
- Preparing schedules of costs and statements for trial.
- Providing costs advice to clients both in writing and over the phone on settlement recovery or technical issues.
- Drafting and negotiating Costs Budgets and preparing for CCMC hearings.
- Attending CCMC/CMC hearings to provide advocacy in relation to Costs Budgets and/or directions.
- Regularly reviewing files and managing tasks within Proclaim to ensure timely progression.
- Meeting agreed performance targets including daily chargeable time and annual billing targets.
This role requires someone who can work to the highest professional standards and in accordance with regulatory requirements, money laundering regulations, and industry codes of practice.
