Hours: Full Time – Hybrid

Part Time: 3 or 4 days available – Hybrid

Ready for a Change from Frontline Clinical Work? Take your clinical career in a new direction while continuing to make a meaningful difference. As a WCA Clinical Assessor, you'll use your clinical expertise to assess how an individual's health conditions affect their ability to work. You'll review medical evidence, conduct structured assessments and produce clear, objective reports to support fair benefit decisions for the DWP.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct Work Capability Assessments (WCA) via telephone and face-to-face appointments.
  • Assess how physical, cognitive and mental health conditions affect an individual's functional ability.
  • Review medical evidence/medical history.
  • Use your professional judgement to assess functional limitations objectively.
  • Produce accurate, evidence-based medical reports for the DWP.
  • Work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.
  • Use modern systems and technology to document your findings efficiently.

Fully Paid Training

12 weeks of fully paid, structured training covering assessment skills, DWP guidelines and report writing. Ongoing support and development throughout your career. No annual leave during the first 6 weeks of training.

Who Can Apply?

  • You must have: Registration as a Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist
  • Minimum 1 year post-registration experience in an adult setting
  • Active NMC or HCPC registration, where applicable
  • Full right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
  • Strong clinical knowledge of long-term conditions
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
  • Confident IT skills and the ability to manage multiple systems while communicating with customers
