Everpool Recruitment is one of the UK's leading providers of permanent recruitment solutions to the Health and Social Care sector and we offer bespoke consultancy services to clients and candidates alike.

The Client

Our client is a new service based in Nottingham and has a 1-bed service that currently supports a young person aged 14 with highly complex and high-risk needs and operates within a therapeutic, structured and boundary-led model. This is not a standard residential childcare role. Candidates need to be comfortable supporting a young person in crisis and working within a highly consistent team approach, including deprivation-of-liberty arrangements where applicable.

The care model focuses on:

  • Therapeutic parenting.
  • Trauma-informed and relationship-based practice.
  • Clear and consistent boundaries.
  • Long-term relationship building.
  • Calm and structured responses to challenging situations.
  • Understanding that progress may be gradual rather than immediate.
  • Consistency between every member of the staff team.

The service currently operates around a 3:1 staffing model, requiring three members of staff across the day and three overnight, alongside contingency cover.

Who Are They Looking For?

We need experienced, resilient and emotionally mature Support Workers who are comfortable working with young people presenting complex and potentially high-risk behaviours. This role will suit candidates who have worked in:

  • Children's residential care.
  • Complex-needs services.
  • Crisis-support environments.
  • High-risk residential settings.
  • Services supporting challenging behaviours.
  • Therapeutic or trauma-informed environments.
  • Other closely related specialist settings.

Qualifications & Compliance

Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce / Residential Childcare is preferred. However, we will not automatically reject candidates without Level 3. Candidates can be considered if they:

  • Already hold Level 3;
  • Are currently working towards Level 3; or
  • Are willing to undertake Level 3.
