Still passionate about healthcare but ready for a change from shift work, hands-on care and the pressures of frontline clinical practice? This could be your opportunity to use your clinical expertise in a new way, without stepping away from your profession entirely.

Everpool Recruitment is recruiting PIP Disability Assessors for Serco, offering a different kind of clinical challenge, a structured Monday-to-Friday working pattern and the opportunity to develop your career outside traditional patient-facing roles.

Why Consider a Move?

  • Monday–Friday working – no nights, weekends or bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working – a combination of home and office-based work, depending on business requirements.
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities – subject to completion of the required full-time training.
  • Fully paid training – a structured 12-week programme to develop your assessment and report-writing skills.
  • Career development – opportunities to progress into senior, quality and specialist positions.
  • Transferable skills – put your clinical knowledge, communication skills and professional judgement to use in a different setting.

What Does a PIP Disability Assessor Do?

  • As a PIP Disability Assessor, you will assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their daily living activities and mobility.
  • You will conduct assessments, review medical evidence and use your clinical expertise to produce clear, accurate and evidence-based reports.
  • Your reports help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) make informed decisions about Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claims.
  • You will typically complete three assessments per day, balancing detailed clinical assessments with accurate documentation and workload targets.
  • This is not a hands-on clinical role, but it is still a demanding position requiring strong clinical reasoning, analytical thinking, time management and high-quality report writing.
  • You will need to be comfortable evaluating complex information, making objective recommendations and working to quality and productivity expectations.

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Paramedics or Pharmacists.
  • Fully registered with an active, unrestricted professional registration.
  • Able to demonstrate at least 12 months of relevant post-registration clinical experience.
  • Confident communicating with people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Strong in clinical assessment, evidence gathering and professional decision-making.
  • Comfortable writing detailed reports and managing a structured workload.

Previous Functional Assessor experience is not usually required, as full training is provided. However, you must be willing to learn a new assessment framework and adapt your clinical skills to a report-based role.

What's in It for You?

Alongside the Monday-to-Friday working pattern and hybrid options, you will receive a comprehensive training programme, annual leave entitlement, bank holidays, pension benefits and access to ongoing learning and development.

  • Eligible employees can also benefit from a 5% one-off approval bonus following successful approval after training, plus an annual performance and quality bonus of up to 10%, subject to the applicable scheme terms.
