We're recruiting Adult Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Paramedics and Pharmacists to move into structured PIP and WCA Functional Assessment roles. You'll use your existing clinical knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement to understand how physical, mental health, neurological and cognitive conditions affect an individual's daily living, mobility and ability to function within a work-related environment. These are assessment and decision-support roles. No treatment. No prescribing. No manual handling. No nights or weekends.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Conduct structured assessments via telephone, video and face-to-face appointments
  • Gather detailed clinical and functional histories
  • Review medical evidence, treatment and clinical records
  • Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and functional capability
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies and use effective questioning to explore them further
  • Consider severity, variability, reliability and risk
  • Apply critical thinking and evidence-based clinical reasoning
  • Produce clear, accurate and defensible clinical reports
  • Manage a structured caseload within a supportive multidisciplinary team

Training & Clinical Support:

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience. You'll receive comprehensive, fully paid training to prepare you for the role.

Important: Full-time attendance is required throughout training and annual leave cannot be taken during the first six weeks.

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Active UK NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration with no restrictions
  • Profession: RGN, RMN, RNLD, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic or Pharmacist
  • Minimum 12 months' post-registration experience
  • Minimum 12 months' UK-based adult clinical experience
  • Experience within adult-facing clinical settings such as acute, community, rehabilitation, primary care, secondary care or mental health services
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
  • Experience producing clear and structured clinical documentation
  • Confident IT skills and ability to work across digital systems

Pharmacists: Applicants should have strong patient-facing clinical experience, including consultations, clinical reviews and exposure to a broad range of adult health conditions. Relevant backgrounds may include hospital, secondary care, minor injuries, urgent care or other patient-facing clinical services.
