A leading retailer is seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the Northern region. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across retail stores, distribution centres, and office locations.

The Role

  • Conducting approximately 70 site audits per year across retail, distribution, and office environments
  • Acting as the primary contact for Environmental Health Officers, Fire Officers, and other regulatory bodies
  • Leading post-incident and accident investigations
  • Supporting the development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Delivering engaging health & safety training across the business
  • Providing practical, commercially focused health & safety solutions

This role requires regular travel and overnight stays several times per week.

About You

  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within retail or distribution environments (though other backgrounds will be considered)
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience preferred, or relevant operational experience combined with H&S qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of current health & safety legislation
  • IOSH membership and NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) essential
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong report writing and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with a practical, hands-on and commercial approach
  • Confident delivering training and promoting best practice
  • A collaborative team player
