Eastbourne | Hybrid - Homebased and Site Working | Monday–Friday | No Nights or Weekends

As a PIP Functional Assessor, you'll assess how physical and mental health conditions affect an individual's daily living and independence.
You’ll still use your clinical judgement, assessment skills and professional experience every day, but within a structured, non-treatment role.
No previous Functional Assessor experience required. Full training provided.
What will you actually do?
- Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments
- Explore physical and mental health conditions and their functional impact
- Review medical evidence and clinical history
- Use your clinical reasoning to interpret complex information
- Produce detailed, accurate and evidence-based clinical reports
- Deliver assessments professionally and sensitively
This is an analytical, report-focused role so strong written communication and confidence producing clinical reports are important.

- £45,000 starting salary (dependent on location and experience)

You’ll need:
- Current NMC, HCPC or GPhC registration
- Minimum 12 months' post-registration clinical experience
- UK adult clinical experience
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Experience producing detailed clinical reports and evidence-based documentation
- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems
- Eligibility to work in the UK

You’ll receive comprehensive training and ongoing clinical support to help you transfer your existing healthcare experience into functional assessment.
Eastbourne hybrid requirement You'll need to live within a 90-minute commute of Eastbourne and be able to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
