WCA Disability Assessor Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists

Location: Cambridge | Hybrid working | Full-time/Part time availability

Are you a registered healthcare professional looking to take your career in a new direction? Everpool Recruitment is currently recruiting WCA Disability Assessors in Cambridge. This is an excellent opportunity to step away from traditional front line or shift-based work while continuing to use your clinical knowledge, assessment skills and professional judgement.

Salary & Benefits

  • £42,000 increasing to £43,000 after 12 months
  • £2,000 salary bonus when you begin conducting face-to-face assessments
  • 5% bonus upon approval following training
  • Up to 10% annual bonus based on quality and performance
  • Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

About the role as a WCA Disability Assessor

You will use your healthcare experience to assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their functional ability and capacity for work. You will typically complete 5–6 shorter assessments per day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting telephone and face-to-face assessments
  • Reviewing medical evidence and health questionnaires
  • Producing accurate and objective reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

Full Training Provided

No previous Disability Assessment experience is required. Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 6 to 12-week training programme, covering:

  • Assessment techniques and best practice
  • DWP guidelines and requirements
  • Evidence analysis
  • Professional report writing
  • Applying clinical knowledge to functional assessments

Who We're Looking For

  • Registered Adult Nurses – Adult, Mental Health, Learning Disability or General
  • Occupational Therapists – Adult-focused
  • Physiotherapists – Adult-focused

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
  • At least 1 year of active professional registration
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Excellent report-writing and typing abilities
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to analyse information and make evidence-based recommendations
