Functional Assessor (PIP) – Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Paramedic and Pharmacists

Salary: £45,000 + £1,000 increase after 6 and 12 months + excellent bonus scheme

The Role As a PIP Functional Assessor, you will use your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to assess how an individual's health conditions or disabilities affect their daily living and mobility.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting telephone and face-to-face assessments
  • Reviewing medical evidence, health questionnaires and supporting information
  • Discussing claimants' health conditions and how these affect their everyday lives
  • Assessing daily living and mobility activities
  • Producing clear, accurate and objective reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)
  • Using your professional judgement to make evidence-based recommendations

  • £45,000 starting salary
  • £1,000 salary increase after 6 and 12 months, performance dependent
  • 5% approval bonus following successful training
  • £2k F2F bonus usually within 6 months

Full Training Provided No previous Functional Assessor experience is required.

Successful candidates will complete a 12-week comprehensive training programme, covering PIP assessment techniques, DWP guidelines, report writing and the skills needed to succeed in the role.

You will need:

  • At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
  • At least 1 year of active professional registration
  • Strong communication and assessment skills
  • Good IT, typing and report-writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
