Location: Ashton Manor Care Home, Lancaster

Salary: £16.52 per hour, with overtime paid at £18.02 per hour. Basic annual equivalent of £33,073

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 38 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 8:00am – 6:00pm on a two‑week rolling rota

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

About the Role

Evermore Care is seeking an experienced Care Team Leader to join our dedicated team at Ashton Manor, our luxury care home in Lancaster. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role, guiding and supporting colleagues to deliver the highest standards of care for our residents. As a Team Leader, you’ll take responsibility for coordinating shifts, providing hands‑on leadership, and mentoring staff to ensure exceptional care delivery. You’ll also act as the senior point of contact in the absence of the Home Manager, ensuring the smooth and safe running of the service at all times.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the care team, ensuring effective handovers, guidance, and being a positive role model.
  • Manage rotas, ensuring adequate staffing levels and appropriate skill mix.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with the home management team, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Build positive relationships with residents’ families and external professionals, through regular communication.
  • Conduct and lead team meetings, providing feedback and support to staff.
  • Oversee medication management, including the receipt and administration of medications.
  • Promote dignity, respect, and choice, ensuring an exceptional resident experience at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the induction, training, and ongoing development of team members.
  • Carry out spot checks, supervisions, and competency assessments to maintain outstanding standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Significant experience in a similar setting, with a solid understanding of dementia and elderly care.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in supervising and appraising staff.
  • Knowledge of medication management and adherence to safety protocols.
