Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week – No Evenings!

Pay: £14.00 – £14.50 per hour / £29,120 – £30,160 per annum – Depending on experience

Shift Pattern: 7am – 6pm, working 4 days per week on a two‑week rolling rota with every other weekend off!

As our Cook, You Will:

  • Prepare and present balanced, nutritious meals tailored to the individual needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Support the Head Chef in maintaining kitchen standards, managing stock levels, cleanliness and food safety compliance.
  • Participate in co‑producing menus with residents, ensuring variety, quality and alignment with dietary needs.
  • Order and check deliveries, ensure correct food storage and minimise food waste.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning schedules and adhere to all health, safety and infection control regulations.
  • Play a key role in creating a positive, person‑centred dining experience.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years’ total kitchen experience, ideally with 2–3 years in a fresh‑food or traditional British cuisine setting.
  • Confidence to run the kitchen independently on the Head Chef’s days off, ensuring smooth operation and consistent quality.
  • Ability to prepare balanced, nutritious meals tailored to individual resident needs and preferences.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen management including stock control, food safety and cleanliness.
  • Willingness to participate in menu co‑production with residents to maintain variety and quality.
  • Dessert and baking experience is desirable but not essential.
