Pay: £16.20 per hour / £32,432 per annum

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 38.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 13:00 - 22:30, across a two-week rolling rota:

  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun
  • Week 2: Wed, Thu, Fri

About the Role

Evermore Care is seeking an accomplished and confident Care Team Manager (Residential) to work on our newly created Twilight management shift between 13:00 and 22:30 at Astley View, our new, purpose-built luxury care home in Chorley. This is a key management position, requiring an experienced leader who can motivate, support, and develop a high-performing care team. You will be responsible for creating a positive, accountable culture during night shifts - guiding staff, driving best practice, and ensuring that every resident receives exceptional, person-centred support. A strong understanding of Dementia care is essential, as you will champion approaches that promote dignity, comfort, and meaningful engagement for residents living with dementia. As the senior decision-maker on duty, you’ll provide clear direction, resolve issues confidently, and maintain seamless communication with the home’s leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a leadership capacity having a solid track record in residential dementia care and who takes pride in mentoring others and a passion for delivering exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and develop the night care team
  • Provide strong, visible leadership, setting the tone for compassionate, high-quality care.
  • Supervise the team throughout the night, offering ongoing guidance, feedback, and practical support.
  • Champion best practice in dementia care, ensuring staff understand and follow person-centred approaches.
  • Deliver effective handovers and ensure team members are fully briefed and prepared for their shifts.
  • Oversee staffing and team coordination
  • Manage and organise night rotas to ensure appropriate staffing levels and the right skill mix at all times.
  • Identify development needs within the team and support training, coaching, and mentoring to build confidence and competence.
  • Maintain clear communication and accountability
  • Act as the primary point of contact during night shifts, addressing issues promptly and professionally in the absence of the Home Manager.
  • Ensure strong communication flows between the night team and the daytime management team, escalating concerns when needed.
  • Support team performance and cohesion
  • Conduct nightly team meetings or debriefs, offering constructive feedback and fostering a positive, collaborative environment.
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and empathy—particularly in the context of dementia support.
  • Medication and care quality supervision
  • Lead safe, accurate medication management, including receipt, administration, and documentation.
  • Ensure care plans are followed consistently and that residents’ emotional, physical, and cognitive needs are fully supported.

Experience and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Significant leadership experience in a similar setting, with a solid understanding of dementia and elderly care.
  • Proven experience in supervising and appraising staff.
  • Knowledge of medication management and adherence to safety protocols.
