Are you an ex-recruiter looking for something different? If you’ve built your career in recruitment but want to step away from sales targets, while still using your organisation, people, and coordination skills, this could be exactly what you’re looking for. We’re hiring a Talent Acquisition Manager at Vertical Drop, and we’re specifically looking for someone from a recruitment background to bring their skillset into a completely different environment.

About Us

Vertical Drop is a fast-growing podcast production agency helping founders turn ideas into high-quality, fully produced podcasts. In just 12 months, we’ve grown to 15+ paying clients and are now entering an exciting new phase of growth with new team members, new clients, and big ambitions. We’re building a small, high-performing team in Newquay, and this is a key hire.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to join us on a flexible, part-time basis (ideally 4 days per week). This role is perfect for someone who wants meaningful, high-impact work without full-time hours, particularly someone with a background in recruitment looking for a fresh challenge. You don’t need podcasting experience, we’ll teach you that. What matters is your ability to manage people, processes, and moving parts.

The Role

You’ll work closely with founders to take their podcast from idea → launch → ongoing production. Responsibilities include:

  • Guiding clients through podcast creation (concept, audience, format)
  • Working with designers to build podcast branding
  • Creating and executing guest outreach strategies
  • Contacting and securing podcast guests
  • Hosting briefing calls between hosts and guests
  • Coordinating recording logistics (studio, timing, expectations)
  • Managing the editing process with our production team
  • Overseeing episode scheduling and distribution

This is a people-heavy, coordination-focused role, similar in many ways to managing candidates and clients in recruitment.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent pipeline of recorded and scheduled episodes
  • Smooth, well-organised production process
  • Happy clients who renew for future seasons
  • Strong relationships with hosts and guests

About You

We’re specifically looking for someone with a recruitment background, this is key. You’ll likely:

  • Have worked as a Recruiter / Recruitment Consultant
  • Be highly organised and process-driven
  • Be confident communicating with different personality types
  • Be adaptable, knowing when to guide vs support vs take the lead
  • Enjoy managing multiple moving parts at once

Working Pattern

  • Part-time, flexible hours (ideally 4 days per week / school-run friendly)
  • Hybrid working: 2–3 days per week in our Newquay office

Growth Opportunity

This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to grow with the business. As we scale, you’ll have the opportunity to potentially lead and manage future Talent Acquisition team members.

Why Join Us?

  • High-impact role in a growing business
  • Flexible working designed around real life
  • Supportive, small team environment
  • No prior podcast experience needed
  • Clear progression into leadership

Interested? If you come from recruitment and want a fresh challenge with flexibility and long-term growth, we’d love to hear from you.
